My Rydings College Journey
A poem of my journey at Rydings CollegeI’ve always pondered the question ’’what would I say if I was granted the opportunity to speak to you all about my 14 years here, at Rydings College’’, I guess now is the time to find out. Hello ladies, gentlemen, boys, girls and our honoured guests of honour. Thank you for having me. Before I commence my speech, I would like to thank my family for being here to support me, my friends, and my educators. Without any of you, I would not be where I am tonight.
Thank you, because without your help I would not have been given this chance to represent myself with this speech comprised of highly personal anecdotes. Now how did I get her? I was quite the angelic child growing up, I never caused my parents any trouble, I was quiet and well-mannered and this is all, but a lie. I was a little devil, a menace. I remember my parents owned a grocery store. Around that time I was only about three years old, I used to climb on top of the stacks of packaged sugar and poke holes in them with a ballpoint pen.
I used to open up packets of biscuits and only lick` the cream off of them, only to return the packets with the remains back onto the shelves. This probably caused my parents a lot of stress and so they found it best to send me off to school at such a young age, where it would be much safer for their wallets. My parents chose Rydings College because they knew their son needed a solid foundation that would support him through every stage of life. I’m proud to say that this institution has moulded me into the type of young man my parents envisioned I would be.
I have been equipped with so much wisdom and many life skills that are going to elevate me exponentially as I manoeuvre my way through every obstacle this world has in-store for me.
